Kell sports

Today Room 10 Participated in a kelly sports event to support cure kids.

Cure kids is a children charity That means children that is need for a sickness they have Children charity will help donate and suff an example of the way they support children's health Is When there sick they help them and support them with there sickness.

An example of ways they support Children's health is when they get other companies like Kelly Sports to come into schools, such as us, Tamaki Primary, and they put together events that are fun enough to encourage student like us to help out with their fundraisers! The effect of their work/research is that those kids in need of help and medicine will finally be able to get the help they once needed and they'll finally recover!

By supporting cure kids I hope My impact will be to help kids in need.

My Magic Box

Here is a little bit of details about my imaginary Magic box, If you scroll down a take a look you get more information my magic box

In my magic box there is a rollercoaster that will take you through thick and thin pathways There will be 2  river paths one is as dark as the colour black and one is as bright as the sun. both path ways will be  flowing towards the same destination that will take you to a fantasy world, every time you enter you will think your in dreamland over and over again! The negative energy will become positive because what they have seen!

It will smell like Britney Spears Perfume, When you smell and vision this your mind will be blown away trust me! Once you enter my magic box you would never want to leave. It’s not just the looks and smell there will be everything you will want!

You will hear the waterfall dropping down to the lake , as you hear that you will feel like you're in a tropical island .. As the water dips down from the waterfall it may look like tears running down your face one by one .

When you enter My Magic box you will feel the nice smelling breeze fly by and feel the peace and quietness of love.

The meaning of Hobby?
The definition of Hobby is an activity you enjoy doing in your leisure time for enjoyment!
Hobby isn't just games it could be a job or anything that you like! Do something that you enjoy, Don't be a follower and copy what your friends do! Example: You friend's Hobby is something you really dislike you wont enjoy but your friends will!  We all got different sense of humor we all wont be life Sentenced So we all just gotta live life.

Matariki

This week we will be learning about Matariki! What is Matariki to you? 

Here are a couple of tips I have learnt today! Did you know that Matariki stars don't flip they rotate! There is differences between Rotate and flip, rotate is when it turns same shape but flip is totally different! Matariki stars have never ever flipped since the generation has been existed! Tolerance

Yesterday we watch a couple of documentary about Tolerance! We all got asked what Tolerance meant to us? What I have learnt about Tolerance is that we should accept people for who they are, Respect them for who they are, Don't judge them or there different. We all had a task to make a song,poem or rap. We all got split up to get to know others better. Me and my group had done a poem, I hope you know and learn about tolerance cause we should treat others how we all would wanna be treated!

Sugar Song

Today we have ended our day with all our sugar songs. We all had different groups and we all had to make a song,Poem,Rap about the information we know about sugar. Sugar is not good for us but most people still wanna eat the sugar that is killing us, Sugar can make us sick anywhere we go! I hope you listen to the lyrics carefully and hopefully it makes you realize what sugar is doing to your body.

Maths Design

Today we have been learning our fractions! We all got different questions, My question was to design thirds with logo to show that I understand my fractions! In a third there have to be three equal parts. We have had parents visit our class room and they were surprised the way we work out our maths, We were challenging ourselves and also the parent that visited our class! Here is my design that I created with lego!

Novel Reading

What I hope happens in chapter 2 before reading is that the story will get more interesting than it already is, He wont do anything stupid that will harm his family and there is adventurous and terrifying moments.

I am willing on reading at least 2 or 3 more chapters!

Chapter 2: It been 4 weeks since we have been reading this book I haven't bee

n reading much cause our class has been busy. I haven't got that much information I know a little bit about the book. So far the dad has been depressed and the son has been through alot, Mat’s Nanny Wai wanted Matt to have the bone tiki mat didn't see much use in the necklace but when he found out someone wanted to take the bone tiki and sell it to the museum he immediately told his aunt and she knew nanny wai wanted Mat to have it but instead of giving it to Matt she just hide it in Nanny Wai’s jacket so the man could not find it but when Matt went to kiss Nanny Wai dead body which was cold and empty he had stolen the Bone Tiki but he didn't find much interest in the Bone tiki because he thought it was just an ordinary pounamu till he found out it was made out of bone, after he had stole the Bone Tiki he wanted to leave immediately, He had left to the car park and saw his father waving impatiently to him, over the opposite side of Matt's father he saw a dark black car with tinted windows the car was parking up in the car park, Matt had seen a curious crowd gathering he had felt a tingle of fear , He was scared that he was squeezing onto the bone tiki that it almost made his hands bleed, he went to the crowd there were all sorts of people children, Adults, Gang members. Before Reading what do you hope happens?

I hope that the novel is adventurous and a little bit of horror in it. I hope the there is more than 2 or 3 characters. Why? So the story can be interesting and fun for kids.

The novel cover looks like the story will be interesting to read. The bone tiki looks like it is individual.

WALT: Using Solo framework to think and respond to ideas in our novel!

the book i am reading is the Bone Tiki! When I first saw the book my eyes got attracted on to the book.

The book my group is reading is Bone Tiki author David Hair, when I first saw the book i was hoping  that the novel is adventurous and a little bit of horror in it. I hope the there is more than 1 character.

so far I have read 3 chapters in 6 weeks cause room 10m is a busy class I haven't made time to attend to the book, here is a little bit of chapter one i have read so far,

Chapter 1 :The part I have read is about a boy who has a miserable father. The father has been miserable ever since the mother had left and she couldn’t handle all the pressure of the father who was always relying on her. The father and the son was supposed to got to a funeral (Tangi) but the father had more important things to do he SAYS he ends up going to the funeral (Tangi ) Keep reading. The father remain a specified state in his office the only time he will exit his office was to make a coffee. The house was so dark no curtains open. The only light in the house was in the son's room. The father and the son finaly finaly went to the tangi, As the father and the son got ready the son saw a pounamu in the father's draw and said” You should wear this” The father didn’t reply he only looked at the son and walked away. While the father was on the phone the son had found out that his father was involved, representing  with gang members.

Making Sushi

Today room 10 had got split up and I got split up into room 7 with Frances and Irys, Room 7 was making sushi, We all had to buddy up and create our own sushi, I had buddy up with Frances, First we had to wash our hands and watch Miss Ashley demonstrate how to create it then we all left the table and spread the rice all over the seaweed after we done that we put our ingredients in Like Tuna, Cucumber and Capsaicin we had to roll it with a mat, The mat was stable and we had to squeeze it hard but no squash it, After we had made it we had to take photos of our Sushi and then finally eat it. We had to clean our mess then write out reflection. 

Milk Shake

Last week at Technology We had made a Milk Shake, there is diffrent kind of groups and I'm in the cooking group, We have to buddy up but there is only 2 groups of 3 and the rest is 2 buddys each group, We had ,made a milk shake cause it was easy for our first lesson, Our ingredient was Ice-Cream / Oreo Cookies / Whipped Cream and Chocolate sauce I cant wait for next session for technology I am looking forward on what we are making next.

Bees

I have been writing on behalf on what I know about bees and what they do in their time of life.
I have written a small paragraph about bees I hope you learn more and here is a tip don't harm the bees treat them how you would wanna be treated, They are just visiting your garden to collect nectar and make the honey so they can provide for their Hive.

Yesterday we have been writing about our goals in Maori/Samoan/English it is a different experience because I don't know the language Samoan and not much Maori, This is all about what people cant see in us cause all they can really just see the outside of us, We had to explain what the values mean to us in Samoan and how they can relate to us. In the future my goal is being a principal or at least a lawyer. I would be so happy with myself if I had archived my goal and I will stand with pride. to archive my goals I will have to be a kind person. The main key message here is treat others how you would wannabe treated and try archive your goals.

Today Room 10 got given a new Whakatauki .. Whakatauki means quotes or a given proverb ..  Our Whakatauki today was "Ma'ou i lou ofaga , Maua'a lou faasinomaga " The meaning towards it is : Keep your Identity alive to thrive .. To me this means remembering who we are and where we come from .. No matter where we go we shouldn't forget who we are ... If I got to make this into my own whakatauki : Keep your uniqness alive so succeed in life ..

Making sandwiches

Today Room 9 made sandwiches .. Making sandwiches was apart of our inquiry .. In my sandwiches was : Ham , cucumber , tomatoes , mayo and lastly butter .. It was very tasty and very enjoyable .. I would like to keep going on with these kind of activities during our inquiry topic .. After doing our sandwiches we had to do a google drawing about what we did today ...

Food Diet

Since thursday room 10 had done a food diet! we have written of what we have eaten over the weekend. We all have different kinds of meals. I have taken a photo of my diet.

What will your eating goals be for this week? More homemade food and more fruits and vegies.

Interview with a beekeeper

Tamaki Primary intermediate room 9 and 10 got a visitor. We all had no idea who it was but when we saw Miss Kylas partner sam walk into our class room we all knew then it was Sam. Sam is known at Tamaki Primary school. We all got interesting facts about Bees. Did you know that the Queen bee lays all the eggs, The Queen bee isn't born as a queen she get's chosen from the drones. The drones are the men that doesn't do any work apart from helping the Queen lay the eggs for the generation. To get more facts and information here is my presentation!

Reflection

Today I have written a paragraph how to show manaakitanga, an Idea is to make others feel comfortable.
To make others feel comfortable is to be kind, make them feel like they are at home. It is important to make others feel comfortable cause it you are bossy and mean you will make less friends but if you show manaakitanga you will make more friends than less. Tip dont use to much of the same word thats the mistake I made.

Whare Tapa Wha

Today Room 10 had the chance to experience designing our own Whare Tapa Wha with fruits and vegetables. It was exciting and fun to do. Our group had some difficulties and it was quite complicating.

We tried to make a 3d but we ended up designing a 2d. Even though our design was complicating we achieved what we were supposed to do!

Today Room 10 got to experience designing a whare tapa wha with fruit and vegetables. We were not individual we were in a group. Our design wasn't how it was supposed to be but it is alright for rushing it.

Honey Experience

WALT: Compare and contrast different types of honey!

Today Room 10 got to experience tasting different types of brand honey.
There was Manuka, Pohutukawa, Clover and mixed. We all have different taste buds. I didn't enjoy the Honey, Honey has a interesting taste.

Least We Forgot

We will remember the soldiers that had risked their life for our country and saved us they will not grow old and be weak and struggle with easy things like normal old people Fly High soldiers.
